Meet Jonny. He had a strong social circle in the gay bars of Phoenix, but it didn't quite satisfy him. He looked to get included in groups that did events outside of the bar scene, but he was out of luck. So he decided to make one instead. It started out as a meet-up called Gays Do More Than Bars, and through determination and support, it evolved into the non-profit More Than Bars. It is all about getting out, having fun, and helping the community. Jonny has his BA in Education; MA in Educational Technology; and Currently an instructional designer at a tech company.
Meet Mike - aka "CHESWORTH". A fan from the get-go, Mike has been a catalyst and driver of More Than Bars since its inception. In 2018, we invited him to come on board as our Community Director. Mr Chesworth has been fundamental in our re-brand marketing and strategy.
You may already know him as the Executive Producer | Director of CHESWORTH films.
Meet Mish. She started out as the Senior Program Coordinator for More Than Bars Inc, and is now the Secretary. She originally joined MTB for the doggie dates with her furry friend Butters, but grew to strongly believe in the MTB motto and mission. Mish joined the MTB staff in mid-2017 and is now a full time member. Mish supports the daily workings of More Than Bars to promote its success. She has a vested interest in serving and providing relief to communities that are underprivileged.
